Overview
When building a form in Connect gomembers OnDemand (GoMembers Enterprise), selections made on a form’s Manage Items page may appear to save but do not persist. Typically, no error message is shown, and after clicking Save you are returned to the Manage Items list with the item(s) no longer selected and not appearing on the form.
No confirmed root cause or released fix was identified in this scenario. A practical workaround is to reduce the number of items displayed on the Manage Items screen (filter to a smaller subset) and save, then add items in batches if needed. In at least one observed case, the behavior later self-resolved without a product change.
Solution
Issue
On a form’s Manage Items page, selecting item(s) and clicking Save does not persist the selections.
How it presents
- No error message is displayed.
- Save appears to complete, then returns to the Manage Items list.
- The selected item(s) are not still selected after reload and do not appear on the form.
The customer-visible behavior may look like:
No error item and when you select save it looks like it's going to save and then just brings you back to your manage items list
Troubleshooting / Mitigation
1) Confirm the problem is not transient
- Reload the page.
- Repeat the selection and click Save once more.
2) Reduce the number of items displayed, then save again (primary workaround)
- Open the form you are editing.
- Go to Manage Items.
- Use the Categories dropdown to select a single category (instead of “All”) so fewer items are displayed.
- If there is a Show Items (or similar) filter, choose an option that displays fewer items (for example, active items only).
- Select the item(s) you want to add.
- Click Save.
- After the page reloads, verify the item(s) remain selected.
3) Add items in batches (if you need items across multiple categories)
If saving works with a smaller list, add items incrementally:
- Category A → select items → Save
- Category B → select items → Save
- Repeat as needed
What to collect if the issue persists (for faster diagnosis)
- The “No. Of Items” count shown at the bottom of the Manage Items page
- A screenshot showing:
- the active filters (Category / Show Items options), and
- the “No. Of Items” line
- Your browser name and version (for example, Chrome/Edge + version)
- Whether the issue reproduces in another browser
Validation (confirm it’s resolved)
- Return to Manage Items after saving and confirm the target items are still selected.
- Return to the form editor and confirm the selected items appear on the form as expected.
Frequently Asked Questions
- 1. How do I know I’m experiencing the same issue?
-
If you can select item(s) in Manage Items and click Save, but after the page reloads the item(s) are no longer selected and do not appear on the form, you are likely seeing the same behavior. Typically there is no error message, and it may look like it saves and then returns you to the Manage Items list.
- 2. What is the fastest workaround if items won’t save?
-
On Manage Items, filter to a single Category (and any option that shows fewer items, such as active-only), then select the needed items and click Save. If that works, add additional items in batches by switching categories and saving each time.
- 3. What should I capture if it keeps happening?
-
Capture the No. Of Items count shown at the bottom of Manage Items, a screenshot showing the filters plus the No. Of Items line, your browser name/version, and whether it reproduces in another browser.
- 4. Was this confirmed as a defect with a known fixed version?
-
No. Based on the available evidence in this scenario, there was no confirmed root cause and no fixed version identified. If the problem recurs and shows a consistent pattern (for example, saving works only when the Manage Items list is smaller), provide the diagnostics listed above for deeper investigation.
- 5. How do I verify the issue is fully resolved?
-
After clicking Save, confirm the selected items remain selected when the page reloads. Then return to the form editor and confirm the items appear on the form.
